- Your grades stay on your device. So do your GPA, edits, and notes.
- No passwords or tracking. We don’t sell your data or use it for ads.
- Your official grades stay unchanged. DoreScore only reads Brightspace and connected Gradescope accounts.
What AI reading sends
AI reading sends syllabus content through DoreScore’s Cloudflare service to OpenAI to find grading rules. Setup explains this before uploads start.
Your scores, GPA, login cookies, and notes are not sent. The syllabus itself may contain names or contact details.
You’re in control
- Keep reading on your device: choose Settings → Syllabus processing → “On this device only.” This stops future AI uploads and cancels background AI work.
- Stop automatic reading: turn it off in Settings. You can upload a file, paste grading text, or enter rules yourself.
- Grade notifications: off unless you turn them on in Settings. They’re made on your computer from your synced grades; nothing is sent to us.
- Delete local data: choose Settings → “Delete all data,” or uninstall the extension.
These actions can’t recall an upload already sent or immediately delete records retained by a provider.
More detail
What DoreScore reads and saves
- Through your Brightspace sign-in, DoreScore reads your courses, assignments, scores, and syllabi. Never messages, submissions, or other students’ records. Gradescope is read only if you connect it, and DoreScore can’t submit work or change either gradebook.
- Your browser saves your grades, edits, notes, and the proposed grading rules for each class. The original syllabus file and its full text are not kept.
- About twice a day, DoreScore downloads its built-in grading plans from dorescore.com, sending nothing about you. On-device reading and pasted grading text never leave your computer.
AI uploads and how long data is kept
- AI reading sends syllabus text, plus up to three grading-page images, through Cloudflare to OpenAI. Never your grades, passwords, or enrollment records.
- Our server doesn’t keep the syllabus file. The grading rules it finds are saved for about a semester under a fingerprint of the syllabus, with nothing that identifies you, so classmates get them without another read. Results that fail checks are kept for 24 hours.
- OpenAI requests use
store: false, but OpenAI may keep data for abuse monitoring under its data retention policies. Cloudflare may keep standard request metadata.
Why the extension needs permissions
- Storage, Brightspace, and Gradescope access: keep your grades on your device and read them through your sign-in. Gradescope only if you connect it.
- Background document and dorescore.com access: read syllabi while the dashboard is closed, run AI scans, and download the built-in grading plans.
- Reader code ships with the extension, not loaded remotely. Data use follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Sending the install link to your computer
“Email myself the link” opens your own email app. DoreScore does not receive the address you send it to. Share and Copy also work on your device.
If automatic email delivery is enabled, “Send me the link” sends the address you enter through our Cloudflare server to Resend, solely to deliver the requested install link. It does not subscribe you to updates or marketing.
We do not save raw email addresses or request bodies in our application. Hashed addresses and IP addresses are kept briefly to limit abuse, then removed within 48 hours. The hosting and email providers may retain delivery and security records under their own policies.
This website and previous email signups
- This website uses no cookies or analytics and has no marketing signup form. Our host may keep standard security logs, including IP addresses.
- The tour video on the homepage loads from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) only when you press play. YouTube’s own privacy policy applies to it from then on.
- Earlier email signups went through Formspree and were used only for DoreScore updates. You can ask for deletion at any time.
