The short version: the DoreScore extension reads your own grades from Brightspace and keeps them on your computer. It has no servers, collects no analytics, and never sees your password. Nothing is sold or shared.

The DoreScore extension

What it reads

When you're signed in to Brightspace (brightspace.vanderbilt.edu), the extension makes read-only requests to Brightspace's API, using your existing session, for:

It doesn't read your Brightspace password, messages, submissions, classlists or anyone else's data. It can't change anything in Brightspace.

What you enter

Syllabus text you paste, grade weights, letter cutoffs, credit hours and the GPA you enter are processed inside the extension on your computer.

Where it's stored

Everything is stored in your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device. It is never sent to DoreScore or anyone else. You can delete it any time under Settings → "Delete all DoreScore data", or by uninstalling the extension.

Permissions

What it never does

The use of information received from Brightspace complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

This website

dorescore.com doesn't use cookies or analytics. If you join the waitlist, your email address is stored by our form provider and used only to tell you when DoreScore is available. You can ask us to delete it at any time. Our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.

Changes

If DoreScore ever starts handling data differently, for example an optional feature that sends syllabus text to a server for better parsing, this policy will be updated first and the feature will be opt-in.
